Roquessels Chapel
The remains of the Xc chateau tower over the village and vineyards of Roquessels. All that remains today is the tower and the XIIc chapel. The views to the south from the chateau terrace are outstanding and there are information panels to help identify what can be seen. The chapel is simple in design with a very high arched roof. An ancient baptismal font (possibly dating from the tenth century) stands in a corner of the chapel. The five-sided apse reaches up towering above the village cemetery.
The chapel is open and easily accessible after a steep climb from the village. There is a pleasant picnic area with stunning views.
