George's Parents

Mum and DadMy Dad, April 2000

My Dad was born and brought up in London. He was a regular soldier before WW II (stationed in India and Ceylon) and fought in the Malaysian peninsular during the war. After leaving the army, he worked for many years for the GPO. He now lives in Chesterfield in Derbyshire.

My Mum was born in Derbyshire but was orphaned when she was seven. She lost touch with her many sisters, eventually finding them again after over thirty years! Suddenly, I had lots of Aunts and Cousins! Sadly, Mum died after a long illness in November 1998. She is greatly missed.
