Description
This sandy coloured dragonfly has a blue band on the second segment of the abdomen in the male. This band in the female is a pale pinkish-violet. It breeds in small pools of standing water, often brackish, and is very wide-ranging but usually occurs in this region in small numbers. The main populations are in Africa and the Middle-East.
Observations
28/03/2005 3 individuals hunting over dry grassland near coastal lagoons at Frontignan, Hérault (34).
